White Stork Company - A unique birth announcements any prospecting parent would be proud display.

A couple of months ago I was aimlessly scrolling through Instagram in a sleepless state when I came across The White Stork Company. They say love at first sight doesn’t exist, well let me tell you they’re wrong! Just one look at their feed and you’ll understand the instant appeal.

Brought to life by Jules and her husband Noel, the company was set up after their travels around Germany. Taking inspiration from the traditional Bavarian carvings they saw along their way. While exploring the mountains Emilie spotted a number of houses proudly displaying wooden storks. It didn’t take the couple long to realise these charming storks were actually birth announcements. Celebrations of new life entering the world.

Upon returning home the couple set about bringing this special German tradition home to the UK. With the help of their friends Joab and Emilie the White Stork Company was born, creating unique birth announcements any prospecting parent would be proud display.

The Arrival of Our Stork

Those who regularly read my blog (I’m sure there has to be a few) will know that for the past six or so months I’ve been running a weekly feature – The Pregnancy Diaries – written by my close friend Kerrie. With the arrival of Kerrie’s baby creeping closer and closer we couldn’t wait to get our hands on one these delightful storks.

When it arrived I had to hold myself back from tearing into the box with excitement. After all it wasn’t my birth announcement!

What Comes in the Box

Included in the box is:

  • Your White Stork
  • A ‘Waiting for our new baby’ sign
  • 1 blue bag
  • 1 Pink bag
  • Fixtures and fittings
The Assembly

We received our assembly instructions via email. Giving you the option of attaching the Stork to either your wall or glass the instructions are simple and take you through the process step by step. The installation was pretty straightforward and didn’t take much time at all. Kerrie opted to secure her stork to the brick work but the stork would look equally attractive attached to the window.

What we Love About the Stork

Everything! It’s minimalistic style attracts your attention without appearing garish or over the top. The ‘waiting for our baby’ sign adds to the growing excitement while politely warning your neighbours of the chaos to come! I especially love how the sign doubles up as a mini chalk board. A great addition to hang in the nursery. What I found really impressive is the quality of the product. The company may still be new but nothing is stopping them from producing high-end products. Their passion clearly shines through.

Anything to Change

The only criticism is the hook used to attach the sign.  On more than one occasion the sign blew off in the wind. If an alternative attachment could be provided maybe with a closing clasp we feel it would be the cherry on top of an otherwise perfect product!

The Verdict

Overall I love this product and I know Kerrie does too. Since the birth of her little boy Jack Kerrie has received so many compliments on her stork. Even the midwife pointed out how handy it was as she knew exactly which house to visit! I’m extremely jealous I didn’t have one myself but going forward I’ll be purchasing storks for all my friends…when they eventually have babies!

If you’re looking for a unique baby shower gift or are expecting a baby and fancy treating yourself head across to The White Stork Company to purchase your very own stork.

*We were given our stork in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    This is gorgeous!
Such a lovely idea, it half makes me want more babies so I can announce them that way! #ablogginggoodtime

What a brilliant idea. I love the design too, it’s stylish. We have these things in Holland they are immensely popular but some are quite out there! We usually tie a blue or pink bow around the door too. Thank you for linking up to #ablogginggoodtime 🎉

This is so cute! I’m expecting my second little boy at the moment and this would have saved those awkward moments with the neighbours – I’m now 33 weeks and I still don’t think our next door neighbours know! No-one wants to be the person who congratulates someone on their pregnancy only to find out they’ve got it wrong! Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

This is so cute & so gorgeous. What a great idea! Too bad the sign blows off – that’s a good suggestion to have a clip that closes. This would make a really precious gift. Thank you for sharing with us at #bloggerclubuk xx
