I wanted to share this post on Monday, it’s now Thursday but I have cold so that’s my excuse!
Last weekend was filled with lots of autumnal adventures and Halloween prep. As the leaves turn orange and the nights get darker I fill with the warm anticipation of the festivities ahead. I love this time of year and I couldn’t wait to share it with Rory. Turns out he’s scared of leaves (along with grass, people who wear hats and me if I take my glasses off) so maybe he won’t share my enthusiasm of autumn!
On Saturday we nipped into the city to sample the delights on offer at a mini food festival inside an old saw factory. It felt very hipster! I tucked into a creatively named hot dog, the Amy Swinehouse while Ryan enjoyed his favourite Jerk chicken. It was an expensive affair but a nice way to spend the afternoon.
With Ryan still recovering from his thumb injury we had a quiet Sunday at home. My evening was spent carving the pumpkins we had purchased on Friday during our trip to Wentworth and putting the finishing touches to Rory’s Halloween costume.
I was expecting him to detest it but to my surprise he appeared quite fond of it. In an attempt to score parental brownie points I opted for a homemade costume. I’m extremely proud of how it turned out although I’ve set the bar pretty high for future Halloweens. Fingers crossed I haven’t peaked too soon!
