Is this even possible? Well, a lot of people will argue absolutely not. Moving is one of the most stressful things a person can do, especially when it is your first time moving house. So it can be really hard actually enjoying the process. Which it should be at the end of the day, enjoyable. It is also one of the most exciting times of your life, but it is easy enough to forget that amidst all the stress. You’ve worked hard to get your own place, and you need to be able to enjoy that feeling sooner rather than later. So we’ve put together a few tips on how you can put the fun back into move.
Plan In Advance
This is one of the main things that is going to get those stress levels right down. You’re obviously going to plan in advance for the bigger things such as when the move will happen and how. But actually planning the how in finer detail will take the edge off a bit when it actually comes round to it. There are plenty of moving Companies to choose from in your area. But making sure you book them in advance to avoid disappointment is always going to be handy, especially if you have a specific date in your mind in which you want to move. Then you need to think about planning things such as moving bills over, if you have them. Or any subscriptions and bank details, they all need to be moved over to your new address.
Get The Kids Involved
Some people would argue that this would make things more stressful, but in fact, it can put the fun into moving like nothing else can. Having them help to pack their things, and watch their excitement for the new home really will make the whole situation a lot more fun for you. It can also help to keep them occupied whilst you otherwise might be filled with a lot of stress. It can also be pretty therapeutic for them as well. They might get a tad stressed with the whole situation of moving, especially if they’re moving schools. It can actually be a really upsetting time for them, so getting them involved will make it just as fun for them.
Have A Party
Some people choose to do this, others don’t, but it is a great way of getting everyone together to celebrate the new house. The move is going to be stressful even if you can find ways to put some fun back into it, so having a blowout when you’re all finally settled in will help to make the ending at least, fun. But a lot of people prefer not to due to mess etc. If this is you, why not have a garden party? It takes the people out the house whilst still letting you have fun.
Those are just a few ways in which you can hopefully put a bit of fun back into the moving process. Try and look passed the stress and enjoy it!
