There’s nothing more wonderful than watching a toddler enjoy their food. I should know because my child survives solely on banana’s and dust! Yes, that’s right I’m the unfortunate parent of a fussy eater.
When Rory was born I was nervous about a lot of things but weaning was not one of them. Good food is really important to me. I love to cook so I couldn’t wait to introduce Rory to a world of exciting new flavours. It was evident from pretty early on that he does not share my love of food. What’s more frustrating is his lack of constancy. There’s just no pleasing him, his likes and dislike change day by day. Mealtimes have become very stressful and a complete farce. Try as we might if it isn’t beige the boy won’t eat it.
When you’re dealing with a picky eater one thing which makes everyone’s life easier are healthy snacks. You want quick food your child will enjoy minus the nasties that kickstart your momguilt. Add a large helping of fun and you’ve got yourself a recipe for mealtime success!
Along with their already amazing recipes (the beef, carrot and apricot winter stew comes tried and tested with my seal of approval) Organix have created some fantastic fun plate ideas to get your creative juices flowing. We opted to give the ginger bread plate a try and Organix were kind enough to send us some yummy samples.
As you can see Rory wasted no time getting stuck in. He had a whale of time – even if my Instagram stories say differently – and I have a newfound love for fruit carving!
