In August I will have been blogging for one whole year! Can you believe it? In some ways it feels like I’ve been at it for years. I’ve learnt so much but that’s all thanks to the amazing support I’ve received from my fellow veteran bloggers. People who have been patient enough to offer their support without expecting anything in return. After a year of blogging I certainly don’t consider myself a professional, that said I’d like the opportunity to share what I’ve learnt and hopefully give some newbie bloggers a motivational push. With that in mind I’ve decided to start a brand spanking new series….say hello to the New Blogger on the Block Guest Post Series!!
This series will be all about showcasing the amazing new talent on offer in the blogosphere. Each week we’ll get to know my guest blogger a little better and give them the opportunity to share with us some of their posts. I’m sure you can all remember what it’s like to hit publish on your very first post. You’re literally putting yourself out there hoping that your audience won’t be too critical and that your grammar doesn’t make you look like a twat! It’s enough to make anyone need a nervous wee. Hopefully you’ll join me in supporting your fellow bloggers and help share some love.
So taking centre stage this week for the first ever instalment of New Blogger on the Block is Aless. Over to you!
Please take a minute to introduce yourself and your blog.
Hi! I’m Aless from Life with Atty! My blog kind of is exactly what it says on the tin. My life with my little boy! I’m now back at work full time after 6 months off so I write about the ups and downs of being a full time working Mummy. I’d like to say that I’m funny…but it seems the only person who laughs at my jokes is me!
What made you decide to start blogging?
I found myself thinking ‘surely I’m not the only one in my situation’ and started blogging to find friends really.
What’s your biggest blogging achievement so far?
Probably my first sponsored post. Writing a disclaimer at the end and using #ad on Instagram made me feel super special!
Is there a particular blogger who you look up to?
It would have to be Lucy from Muffin Top Mummy. I love her writing style and Moo is a similar age to Atty.
Which one of your posts are your most proud of?
Probably my very first one. Not so much because of the content but more because I was brave enough to try something new and put myself ‘out there’ into the big wide world of blogging.
Where do you see your blog in 5 years?
Hopefully inspiring and informing new Mummy’s of the trials and tribulations of bringing up a human. If it’s still going in 5 years I’ll be proud of myself too! Working full time with a baby AND blogging is proving difficult.
Random Question – What came first, chicken or the egg?
The egg. No the chicken! No! The EGG! Oh I have no idea! This is far too stressful for 10:30 on a Sunday night.
If you haven’t already I can’t urge you enough to pop across and take a peek at Life with Atty. I’m sure you’ll be just a surprised as I was when I discovered Aless has only been blogging for just over four months. I love the clean, minimalistic look of her blog and I found her recent post about returning to work ridiculously relatable.
On a side note Aless please don’t feel like you’re failing. You’re clearly a wonderful mummy and you should be incredibly proud of yourself!
Fancy appearing in the next instalment? I’d love to hear from you!
If you’ve got a sec, please leave us a comment because we’d love to know what you thought!
