This weekend has been pretty uneventful, the highlight been the two Big Tasty’s I shovelled into my piehole. FYI the Big T (the name predominately used by cool kids) is my ultimate Maccy D burger of choice. In fact it’s so nice I had to eat it twice! My bad eating habits always step up a gear when Friday rolls round but this weekend was a whole different level. As they say diet start Monday so as of today I’m back on the salad!
But less of my scandalous calorie consumption, it’s time for the next instalment of New Blogger on the Block.
This series is all about showcasing the fantastic new talent on offer in the blogosphere. Each week I’ll be handing over the floor to my guest blogger as we get to know them a little better. This week is the gorgeous Laura from Autumn’s Mummy.
Please take a minute to introduce yourself and your blog.
Hi, I’m Laura! I’m a married 25 year old first time mum. My blog is Autumn’s Mummy where I mainly blog about my experiences of motherhood. I also blog about my plethora of interests including beauty, fashion, cars and weddings.
What made you decide to start blogging?
I started blogging after a tumultuous first few months of motherhood. Autumn unexpectedly fell critically ill when she was 2 weeks old and required open surgery at 5 weeks old. I was suffering with severe anaemia too, and the stress of feeling unwell as Autumn being so poorly sparked the worst anxiety of my life. I began to blog as a way of recording motherhood and Autumn’s progress, but also as a form of therapy for myself.
What’s your biggest blogging achievement so far?
My biggest achievement so far is the fact that my posts have also helped other people.
Is there a particular blogger who you look up to?
I look up to so many bloggers, big and small. I couldn’t possibly name just one.
Which one of your posts are you most proud of?
That’s difficult, but one I’m proudest of is Autumn and the ovarian cyst. It was so difficult for me to write, but a huge part of the healing process for me. I hope that it’ll help other people worldwide who go through a similar experience.
Where do you see your blog in 5 years?
I’d love to have a loyal reader base and still be having fun with it, taking advantage of great opportunities as they come my way and helping people.
Random Question – What came first, chicken or the egg?
I think the egg came first, because surely the chicken had to be born from somewhere?

I’ve followed Laura’s blog for quite sometime now so you can I imagine my surprise when she got in touch. Her blog screams experienced blogger so I would have never imagined she’d only been at it just over six months. One thing I really love about Laura’s blog is the clever mix of fashion and motherhood. I love makeup but as a parent blogger I tend to stick with the posts about the terrible twos and trading in your maternity pants! Laura makes me want to ditch my mumsy image and upload a vlog on how to achieve the perfect your brows while entertaining a toddler.
Please head over to Laura’s blog and take a look at some of her recent posts including Autumn and the ovarian cyst, “You’re ugly”, a boy said to me and 12 things that have changed since I became a mum.
Fancy appearing in the next instalment? I’d love to hear from you!
If you’ve got a sec, please leave us a comment because we’d love to know what you thought!
