New Blogger on the Block: Featuring Single Daddy Day Care

New Blogger on the Block: The series thats all about showcasing the amazing new talent on offer in the blogosphere! This week is Luis from Single Daddy Daycare. It’s all about babies, babies, babies! One of my best friends is currently pregnant…with TWINS! I’m ridiculously excited (and maybe a little nervous) for her. She hates to be the centre of attention, so this weekend we took her for an alternative baby shower treat. What better way to celebrate your bun (or buns in her case) in the oven than afternoon tea.

We had such a lovely time and it was brilliant to gossip over some cream cakes!

With the weekend over it’s time to stop overindulging and get ready for another New Blogger on the Block!

This series is all about showcasing the fantastic new talent on offer in the blogosphere. Each week I’ll be handing over the floor to my guest blogger as we get to know them a little better. This week is the amazing Luis from Single Daddy Day Care.

Please take a minute to introduce yourself and your blog.

I’m Luis Weston from Single Daddy Day Care. By doing a blog I aim to create long lasting memories for my children to read first and foremost and secondly I hope to showcase some fantastic days out and give inspiration to parents (single or otherwise) that days out are fun and worthwhile.

What made you decide to start blogging?

I thought as a single co-parenting father to two, it would be interesting for people to hear and read about life from a man’s perspective.

What’s your biggest blogging achievement so far?

Getting over 600 likes from a Facebook post I did about dating as a single parent and getting great stats on my blog page as a result!

Is there a particular blogger who you look up to?

I would say the unmumsy mum, cliche maybe – but she’s cracked it and I look at how she interacts and engages with her audience etc

Which one of your posts are you most proud of?

Probably the single dating post I mentioned above. I took a gamble in writing it as had previously stuck to traditional ‘parenting’ pieces and it seems to have paid off from a sense of achievement perspective.

Where do you see your blog in 5 years?

Hopefully still going and getting more and more engagement and interaction. It would be great to be recognised for some of the hard work that goes into it all!

Random Question – What came first, chicken or the egg?

Well you can’t have an egg without a chicken first? So I guess the chicken!

One of the things which makes Single Daddy Day Care stand out from the crowd is Luis’s complete honesty to life as a single parent. Parenting is tough but add dating into the mix and you’ve got yourself an even bumpier ride. As bloggers we love to share the shit bombs that life throws at us. I think it’s fantastic that we have brilliant bloggers like Luis representing all the hard working single dads.

Make sure you pop over to Luis blog and have a browse through some of his latest posts including my single parent holiday nightmare, co-parenting and 10 things children of our generation will take for granted.
