Greetings from sunny Spain! Yes that’s right, we’re on our holidays! As this post is prescheduled (definitely not sad enough to blog on holiday) I actually have no idea what we’ve been up to. I suspect were having a lovely time but I’ll fill you in properly next week.
You know the drill by now. The weekends over and it’s Monday so here comes the New Blogger on the Block.
This series is all about showcasing the fantastic new talent on offer in the blogosphere. Each week I’ll be handing over the floor to my guest blogger as we get to know them a little better. This week it’s all about Emily from On the Job Mom.
Please take a minute to introduce yourself and your blog.
Hi, I am Emily. I am a mother, teacher, and hockey mom extraordinaire. My blog is On the Job mom, and it’s about how working moms juggle everything on their plate. A lot of what I write is geared at education and extra curriculars, but I like to switch it up a bit and write about balancing it all.
What made you decide to start blogging?
I am a freelancer, and I have ghostwritten thousands of blog posts for others. I wanted to see if I could use what I learned and grow my own following.
What’s your biggest blogging achievement so far?
I’ve only been up and running for a little over a month now, but I have gotten two guest posts accepted on high traffic blogs, Lies About Parenting and Scary Mommy.
Is there a particular blogger who you look up to?
I am sure there will be, but right now, I am too new to the scene. I do read a lot of blogs, and there are some that are very impressive.
Which one of your posts are you most proud of?
Where do you see your blog in 5 years?
I hope it’s gained a lot more traffic, and I hope it becomes something that parents, teachers, and coaches find to be the raw truth about what’s going on in the niches I choose to vent about.
Random Question – What came first, chicken or the egg?
Egg for sure.
If your into hockey then Emily’s blog is one you should not miss. Along with tales straight from the rink, On the Job Mom is a laugh out loud mix of parental humour and handy tips. While I’m not quite convinced that I’m cut out for the hockey mom lifestyle (although I certainly drink enough coffee) Emily’s blog is definitely one I’ll be revisiting.
When you’ve got a minute take a look at some of Emily’s latest post including Lost in translation: A Side Effect of Rushing Around for Hockey, A Letter From the Coach’s Wife and Top 17 DIY Hockey Mom Crafts on Pinterest.
Fancy appearing in the next instalment? I’d love to hear from you!
If you’ve got a sec, please leave us a comment because we’d love to know what you thought!
