What do mums really want for Christmas?

It may still only be November but there’s no escaping it, Christmas is right around the corner! We’re been barraged with black Friday bargains and the incessant flow of perfume adverts has been intensifying since September. It seems that everyone (apart from me) has already started the disconcerting chore of Christmas shopping.

This has been made even more apparent as my mother in law has spent this last week hounding me for ideas. For some reason I’m finding it really difficult to think of things which I would like!

Earlier this week one of my friends shared a status on Facebook asking Father Christmas for her present early. She requested a lie in or at least one night where she didn’t have to share her bed with the kids. It got my thinking, what do mums really want for Christmas?

After enlisting the help of my fellow PBloggers I’ve managed to compile a catalogue of suggestions. It was difficult to narrow them down never the less here they are the things which mums (and a dad) really want for Christmas!

I’d love a night away in a hotel, on my own without my husband snoring or my baby waking constantly for no reason. I’d have a hot bubble bath that didn’t have a wriggly baby or baby wee/sick in it! I’d like to order room service and eat a hot meal by myself and watch telly without the husband interrupting me constantly. I’d also like someone to do the washing, ironing and cleaning while I’m away. Is that too much to ask?!

Becky – Little, Big & Me

I’d like to be able to have a wee without someone shouting through the door asking me to get them a drink/something to eat/turn the TV over for them!

Nikki – Yorkshire Wonders

A annual membership to places for days out! We home school and days out are expensive! I love being out and about so it helps massively.
Oh or a railcard! For the same reasons.

Kirstin – With Hope and a Swear

I’d like for my eldest two to actually get along, play together and not fight over toys. Oh and maybe for the dog to learn not to bark at everything

Amy – Amy and Tots

I’d love for my daughter to learn to sleep in her cot….failing that, for my husband to wake up at night when she does instead of it always being me that has to sort her out!

Sophie – Life As Mrs D

I want a secret day where everyone stays asleep and I can lay about guilt free, blog, watch what I want, heck do whatever …and I’m the only one up!

Emma – Day48

A spa break with my best friend! She doesn’t have kids and I do so we only really meet up maybe once a month for lunch and I usually have one or both of my children with me. A spa break would mean getting to relax, kid free, and have a proper catch up!

Rebecca – Mum of a Premature Baby

An engagement ring!!!

Becci – To Aufinity and Beyond

A day of no fighting, no meltdowns, a day of laughter and peace

Kirsty – itsallaboutevie

One for the dads!

I would just love to watch the Doctor Who Christmas Special uninterrupted and in peace

Ryan – Dad Lad Blog

Thanks to everyone who took part, I received some really great responses. If you have time, don’t forget to check out some of the bloggers featured!!

What a fun blog you have! (I think I like the title BEST, Clever Mom) My daughter is 25, so your stories — and the gift ideas — are bringing back those baby years. Thanks! I found you on #weekendblogshare

Thank you so much! Funny story about the title of my blog…every morning we come downstairs and I sing a song as were walking. Well I say song, I basically just sing “Mommy & Rory” to a silly tune. On a weekend I add “and daddy cos its weekend”. It always makes Rory giggle, so I though I’d name my blog after it! I’m glad we helped you to reminisce, thanks for taking the time to read our post xx

I love all of these suggestions! What I really want for Christmas this year is some comfortable but stylish (ish?) clothes as I am expecting my second child any day now and just want to feel comfortable over the next month or so. Whether that will happen or not is yet to be seen! x

Well if it doesn’t happen then I think you should treat yourself. Every new Mommy deserves to feel comfortable and stylish, especially over the Christmas period! Thanks for reading and congratulations xx

Oh what would I want? Top of the list would definitely be a night of unbroken sleep and a lie in. Like a proper lie in, where I wake up naturally and then I lounge in bed for a while x #picknmix

I would have to agree with you on that one! A lie in isn’t a lie in unless you get to lounge in bed for half an hour before getting up! xx

What a great line up. I hope they get what they wish for. #weekendblogshare
