Week 33. Baby is a honeydew melon.
On my Pregnancy+ app it says the baby now knows the difference between night and day now. As amazing as this is, it’s hardly news to me! The baby knows exactly when it’s time for me to go to sleep. This is when it is most active!
This and when I’m at work. I suspect the baby finds it boring while I’m sitting at my desk. It’s there for hours on end just waiting for me to move around. At times it feels like I am going to have an Alien moment and it is going to burst out of my tummy!
When you’re waiting to start maternity leave, you just want the weeks to fly by. This week has been a busy one at work which always helps. It’s getting increasingly uncomfortable to sit in traffic. Combine the 2 hour commute with sitting at my desk all day and there’s no wonder I suffer from numb bum syndrome! I also seem to have lost the little patience I had before I fell pregnant. I hope the people I help at work understand that it’s hormones and nothing else! ?
The nursery is now completely finished and I have my dream changing bag. All I need now is this little baby to arrive safe and well to complete our lives. Seems a little sad that it’s the nicest room in the house now and it’s still so empty!
This weekend was weekend no. one of project relaxation. We travelled over to North Wales on Saturday morning and the place was absolutely beautiful. Having never stayed in a castle before, I was equally amazed and scared at the same time. The porter (who could have been called igor!) took us to our room and told us of how haunted it was. At first it sounded like my night of relaxation wasn’t going to happen!
After a lovely walk around the grounds including the dried out moat – which we got slightly lost in – we had a few drinks in the bar. There was a wedding taking place so it made for some interesting conversations with Paul haha! It looked like a fairytale and I was extremely jealous.
I decided to have a little disco nap in the afternoon before the evening meal and a lovely long bath. The food was amazing if a little too posh for us (Paul was wondering where the rest of his meal was!) but then it was a time for a film in the room and an early night.
How wrong could I have been about the scary castle keeping me awake…I can honestly say that for me it was THE best night’s sleep in a very long time. The next day we woke feeling all fresh and rejuvenated.
On Sunday, after breakfast we had a look around the little village of Ruthin. We also called in at Chester on the way home for a look around the shops.
Weekend no. one of project relaxation = complete success!!
As lovely as the weekend was I couldn’t wait to get home to see Thomas. I miss him so much when we’re away but he’d had a brilliant time with his cousins.
It was so lovely to chill out and not worry about a thing for a couple of days. Although the brilliant night’s sleep had a knock on effect on Sunday night, where I couldn’t sleep at all!
Oh well, can’t win them all ?
We have a busy week ahead again. Scan on Thursday, another weekend away and then we are all off next week for half term. Can’t wait!
