Week 26. Baby is a (violent) papaya
I thought I had managed to get away with it but oh no! The most painful and annoying part of pregnancy (apart from labour obviously) has finally caught up with me and is taking its revenge…
Having heartburn while pregnant is pure hell. You can’t eat anything without it feeling like someone has poured acid into your stomach and all you can do is feel it burn in your throat and chest all day.
It makes me feel like I need to be sick but I’m too scared to in case I start breathing fire like a bloody dragon! I think gaviscon will be my best friend for the foreseeable
Aside from the above, it’s been a really good week and action packed as always.
Thursday was my little sisters 30th birthday. This made me feel extra old as she was always the little one in our family. We’re all grown up now and its scary!
We all went out for Italian near where I used to live and it was beautiful. A little family owned restaurant where we always go for family birthdays. It’s a shame it was a week night and we had work the next day but it was great to get together.
Friday I took Paul to Marcos New York Italian in Sheffield (we love Italian food!) for an early birthday treat and we over indulged so much that it still hurt on Saturday. It was worth it though. Highly recommend the place, the food is a little pricey but the portions make up for it.
Saturday we went to the pantomime. It just something which has to be done, after all it is Christmas! I can’t even blame this one on Thomas because he had been to see the same one with school during the week. However my teenage boyband crush was the starring role so couldn’t resist!
Paul came along to make sure I didn’t stalk the poor bloke and we all actually really enjoyed it, belly laughs from all 3 of us! I really hope we have a few more years of Thomas wanting to come to pantomimes as it’s one of my favourite Christmas traditions.
On Sunday it was Paul’s birthday so we had a little birthday party at his mum and dads for him and his twin brother Steven. Both are like big kids so was quite exhausting for all involved but they seemed to enjoy it. 😊
Afterwards we ended up going to reds BBQ in Sheffield for tea with some friends.
I have definitely over indulged this week. I suspect my bump is now 90% food and only 10% baby!
Talking of the baby. I have no idea what has happened but it has turned into a little monster!
The kicks are so strong that it has taken my breath away on a few occasions. It’s been the cause of me making random, involuntary screams at several inappropriate moments. It’s like a rugby player is drop kicking me! I did suspect I was having a girl but now I’m not so sure. There’s just nothing dainty and gentle about it at the moment! It’s even starting to wake me up during the night. It is making night time toilet trips more and more frequent. My record so far is 7 times!
Needless to say I am getting ready for the sleepless nights already.
It’s Christmas next week so who cares! I’m too excited to sleep anyway!
Two days to work and then wait for Santa! 🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼
