When your busy life is getting on top of you, there’s no better way to relax than a nice beach holiday. Sitting back on the sand and basking in the sun is the easiest way to take your mind off it all. There are so many great beach destinations around the world but some of them can be pretty expensive. However, some of the cheapest ones are in Europe and you can still find everything you want out there. These are the best beach destinations in Europe right now.
Croatia doesn’t always spring to mind when you’re thinking of great beach destinations but Dubrovnik is one of the best. It’s not that well known so you won’t be paying too much to get there and the price of living out there is incredibly cheap as well. There’s an amazing beach to relax on and you can take a boat trip from the harbor. If you’re fed up of the beach and you want to do something else for a bit, the surrounding area has plenty to offer. The city is steeped in history with all sorts of impressive sights to see like the huge city walls that run all the way around. The main street, Placa, running through the centre of Dubrovnik is filled with baroque architecture, palaces, great restaurants and bars to visit.
You’ve probably heard of Cannes before, as the home of the world-famous film festival. But you might not know that it has an amazing beach as well. Elegant Address offers some incredible luxury villas in the surrounding area that are a stone’s throw away from the beach and all of the other great sites. When you’ve had your fill of the beach, you can head into the centre of Cannes where you’ll find some great museums and art galleries. The area is also a well renowned culinary hub so there are some amazing restaurants to try as well.
Estonia is another country that is often overlooked as a beach destination but Tallinn is one of the best beaches that Europe has to offer. The Baltic sea has lovely warm water so you won’t catch a cold if you decide to go swimming while you’re enjoying the beautiful beaches. Estonia is an incredibly cheap country, especially for food and drink so it’s perfect if you’re on a budget this summer. There is also a brilliant architectural museum, some quaint old traditional pubs serving delicious beer at a low price, and a great theatre where you can see a show.
The city of Bruges is an amazing medieval city where you can find rich historical heritage around every corner. But most people don’t realize while they’re there that it’s only a 15 minutes drive from the coastal town of Ostend. During the day you can enjoy the beautiful beaches in Ostend resort and then retire to Bruges in the evening to soak up some of the cultures.
These aren’t your typical beach destinations but they’re some of the best ones you’ll find in the world.
