One of the many disadvantages of being a mama who works is missing out on all the mid-week playdates. I’m the only one from my NCT class who returned full time so it can be hard trying to catch up with everyone. Weekends are for family time and before you know it months have past and the kids are leaving home! That’s why every now and again I like to treat myself to a long weekend. I’m quite partial to a Friday off so when the Disney Store got in touch to see if I’d like to host a Disney get together for the boys, I just knew it was an opportunity too good to miss.
If like me you thought Disney couldn’t get any better prepare to be amazified. Now you can host the party of your child’s wildest dreams, made simple with the help of the Disney Store’s bespoke party planner. From the comfort of your own home (whilst drinking a very grown up beverage) you can easily browse through the different themes. Picking up idea’s for games and decorations, even finding some creative snackspiration! The Disney Store is there to help you keep on top of everything with their easy to use free dashboard. You’ll be able to track who’s coming to the party, create a schedule for the day and even design your very own character themed invitations. It couldn’t be easier!
Once you’ve chosen you theme it’s time to head across to the party shop. Here you’ll find a fantastic array of goodies. From tableware and decorations to party bags and fun activities. You’ll be spoilt for choice.Rory is already a big Disney fan. Dumbo is his favourite nap time buddy and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse always buys me several precious minutes of uninterrupted peace. Clearly a product of my parenting, I just had to opt for a classic theme with great sentimental value. Toy Story! I’ve spent so many dreary Sunday’s as a child, snuggled down in front of the TV watching my favourite VRC. It’s not hard to understand why this film, which was made over 20 years ago, is still a favourite in many households.
With my theme selected and party goods on order it was time to plan the event. I decided to keep things simple and low key. I wanted the boys to enjoy some delicious healthy snacks while we had a good chin wag over a pot of coffee. As it’s October a traditional picnic was out of the question so instead I opted for the indoor verity. On my lounge floor to be precise.
In true toddler fashion they showed little appreciation for my presentation and wasted no time in fighting over a plate of Organix Gingerbread Men. That said it was lovely to turn a standard Friday morning playdate into an extra special occasion. I may have supplied the coffee and cake but as always Disney supplied the touch of magic.
*This is a collaborative post. Disney were kind enough to send us a themed party kit in exchange for an honest review. We were not financially recompensed for this post and as always all views and opinions are my own.
